The CIB Research & Analytics (CIB R&A) vertical works with global teams across the Banking, Markets, Wholesale Payments, Security Services, Strategy and Research business segments.
The Centralized Research Group is a part of the CIB Research & Analytics (CIB R&A) vertical. CRG team works closely with the firm’s Corporate and Investment Banking teams across the globe in preparing pitch books & marketing materials. These books can relate to mergers & acquisitions, equity capital raising or debt capital raising.
The Digital Private Markets business is a fast-growing global team within J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank. We are creating a high-profile and exciting new fintech business for the firm, focused on early-stage private markets. This cross-functional business leverages the scale, network, and data of JPM to create holistic solutions for private companies and their investors. Their first product, Capital Connect, is a members-only platform for start-ups and every type of investor. This platform will allow members to network with other members, benchmark companies using proprietary data, consume exclusive content and raise/invest capital on a seamless platform. This cross-functional team operates like a true start-up within the larger company. As an integral part of our team, you will need to demonstrate the curiosity, passion and tenacity required to build a start-up and to solve complex problems in the largest investment bank in the world. Job Responsibilities
Conduct adverse media screening on individuals, organizations or entities from publicly available sources including but not limited to news articles, regulatory filings, watchlists and other open sources
Process screened content to identify potential risks to enable the firm’s compliance team to make informed decisions during onboarding and on-going monitoring in order to comply with laws, regulations and sanctions programs like OFAC
Source and interpret information on individuals, organizations, or entities from a variety of data sources (company reports, online databases, J.P. Morgan proprietary content)
Be a KYC expert in Corporate and Investment Banking domain to conduct end-to-end KYC to compare and contrast differences within KYC records and highlight and escalate any discrepancies
Drive technology initiatives and enhancements to implement tools and infrastructure projects that prepare the business to meet industry / regulatory / internal efficiency needs
Working with Business Leads, Legal and Compliance to assist in developing and implementing a control framework
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Background: 1-2 years of Operations or Business Management experience working on new business initiatives focused on legal, compliance and regulatory framework along with experience in undertaking KYC activities for existing and new client base
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area
Technical skill: Strong in Excel (able to distill large datasets into compact messages, macros, pivot tables, look-ups, and filtering), PowerPoint (skilled with visually presenting those messages), experience with dashboards (designing, using, enhancing)
Problem solving: Intuitive thinker focused on asking the right questions to innovate and improve status quo and ability to find / source information from different sources and work on large amount of data
Excellent academic record with strong interest in making a career in finance with the ability to be a team player, multi-task while working independently delivering high quality results
KYC Skills:
A working knowledge of KYC/Compliance/AML procedures and standards
Quality client focus, strong controls mind-set and strong customer service skills
Prior experience of adhering to controls and compliance standards
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Prior knowledge of databases like PitchBook, Harmonic and Aumni is highly preferred with the knowledge of analyzing company financials and financial modeling skills in MS Excel would be an added advantage
Prior knowledge of Tableau dashboard / Excel VBA / Python and prior experience in automation, process efficiency, process innovation and developing product knowledge, specifically in equity products and investment banking would be a plus
