Role & Responsibilities:
· Perform analysis of markets, competitors, products and customers in order to deliver strategic insights, drive growth and increase wallet share for the Equipment business. The incumbent also provides analysis, often under tight timelines, to improve strategic decision making, drive revenue, and increase profitability. Incumbent will work with colleagues in the LSI Equipment leadership team and internal partners to enable data-driven decision-making and build strategic roadmaps for execution. Requires high level of independence and offers high transparency to senior leadership across the division, group and company.
· Drive key customer relationship management activities including maintaining, building and continually expanding key contacts with decision makers and influencers at all leadership levels within our existing customers and prospects.
· Lead new business acquisition from client identification, project proposals development, team member alignments, product sampling & validation and pricing negotiation.
· Work closely and support Key Account team to ensure timely responses to customer inquiries & RFQ
· Measure and communicate industry trends relevant to strategic marketing and emerging business opportunities.
· Prepare and deliver business/technical/capability presentations.
· Identify potential portfolio enhancement
· Maintain and present monthly progress on business development initiatives helping meet organic growth
· Playing a pivotal role in identifying potential markets, assessing their viability, and formulating market entry strategies. They conduct market research, analyze competitors, and identify target customers. BDMs work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop strategies for market penetration and growth.
Business Strategy
· Co-lead Identification, planning and execution of key critical initiatives in alignment with business strategy.
· Handle and define processes for AOP/STRAP in collaboration with leadership, marketing, commercial and finance
· Drive and track project progress, making sure that risks are proactively assessed and mitigated, problems are rapidly identified and resolved, using project management tools and techniques to deliver on commitments
· Assess and identify growth opportunities by using fact-based analysis, market trends, competitive intelligence, customer needs analysis, technology advancements, policy & regulation changes, etc.
· Lead key growth initiatives. Drive and coordinate our strategic plan (STRAP) initiatives including organic and inorganic growth strategies
· Design, lead and conduct vital market studies and analytical work.
Candidate Requirement:
· 15+years Sales, Business Development, Strategic Marketing, Management consulting or National/Corporate accounts, demonstrating the ability to identify prospects, proceed through sales cycle and close new agreements.
· Competency to perform market landscaping, customer segmentation and develop/quantify clear value proposition and messaging for services product offering.
· Ability to apply integrative thinking and eye for business to think through issues, then articulate recommendations to get agreements.
· A good presentation skill (written and verbal), influencing, leading multiple projects.
· Self-motivated, able to work independently and influence others to move projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
· Relevant experience a plus (eg: medical device, analytical instruments, bio / life science)
· Good management skills and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience levels:
· Strong academic background, Masters/Bachelor in Science+ MBA, Preferred from top B school.
· Core understanding of business development & product portfolio
· Prior experience in Business Development and Strategy
