Organizational Setting

FAO India has set up a project office at 20 Anand Lok which houses the technical, administrative and financial project personnel of the three projects i) GEF6 Green-Ag. Project titled, “Green-Ag: Transforming Indian agriculture for global environmental benefits and the conservation of critical biodiversity and forest landscapes” (GCP/IND/183/GFF) ii) GEF 7 FOLUR project titled “Promotion of Sustainable Food Systems in India through Transforming Rice-Wheat Systems in Punjab, Haryana, Odisha and Chhattisgarh” (GCP/IND/184/GFF) iii) Global Health Security (GHS) Project – Asia and the Pacific Region (OSRO/RAS/403/USA)

Reporting Lines

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in India and direct supervision of the Admin and Operations Officer, the Office Assistant will undertake the following duties.

Technical Focus

Expertise in housekeeping and support services.

Tasks and responsibilities

The Office Assistant will assist the project personnel of the Project Office (Anand Lok) in the following tasks :

• Provide housekeeping services such as daily cleaning of office premises, dusting of furniture and sanitising the office.
• Attend to office maintenance tasks related to electrical, telephone, printer repairs etc.
• Attend to office hospitality requirements like preparing and serving water, coffee, tea and heating of food etc for project staff and guests.
• Maintain manual records of kitchen inventory and other housekeeping items of the project office.
• Assist project staff with printing, photocopying, scanning and filing of paperwork.
• Assist in organizing meetings at the project office.
• Assist in the registry work of the project office as and when required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of secondary school (XII standard)
• Basic knowledge of computer
• One year of experience as Office Assistant/Office Attendant
• Working knowledge of English
• Indian National
