Position Summary:

GEDU is looking for a SQL developer who will be responsible for designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance. You will also work other developers optimizing in-application SQL statements as necessary, and establishing best practices. You will help solve all database usage issues and come up with ideas and advice that can help avoid such problems in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing, coding, and implementing software solutions using modern techniques and programming language.
• Provides high-level database development assistance in creating specific applications for businesses.
• Manage SQL / No SQL databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• Provides general support on information technology to design, develop, execute, and maintain the database application systems, applying several RDBMS
• Ensures research and innovation at all levels of the software development process Apply data modelling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
• Participate in multiple projects simultaneously as a senior development team member.
• Performs the role of the principal designer responsible for complex systems and their subsystems employing deep knowledge of current technology and tools, as well as relevant systems that are already existing.
• Independently analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Provides excellent customer service by responding to and assisting with help desk calls to resolving issues, including system outages
• Track issues and document changes
• Provide guidance and support to Application Developers. Assist them with complex query tuning and schema refinement. Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
• Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
• Implement and maintain database security
• Perform general technical trouble shooting,
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
• Excellent Communication Skills and ability to set the right expectations
• Coordinate with cross platform teams and different stakeholders

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Must have experience in dealing with Production databases.
• Experience in SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Postgres, Mongo DB, Cassendra, Maria Db etc.
• Strong skills in PL/SQL, MYSQL and MSSQL programming languages
• Strong development skills NoSQL.
• Strong skills in scalable & large DB application development & field support for customers
• Knowledge of Optimization & faster bug fixes
• Strong experience in Database Architecture and Performance Tuning
• Must have a good knowledge in Database backup and recovery.
• Hands on experience on testing of database i.e., unit testing, stored procedures & trigger testing Etc
• Exposure & awareness of Versioning / Configuration & Defect Tracking tools are an added advantage.
• Exposure to handling transactions, security, scalability, concurrency and management of the components
• Be aware of remote DBS support SLA’s / Metrics
• Experience in database documentation
• Good to have cloud database knowledge.
• Prior experience of working in cloud like Azure, AWS and GCP

Nice to have Skills and Qualifications:

• Prior experience of working in a start-up culture
• Prior experience of working in Agile SAFe and PI Planning
• Prior experience of working in Ed-Tech/E-Learning companies
• Troubleshoot issues with SQL Server high availability solutions to include Windows Failover Clusters and SQL Server Always On for servers in private cloud and public cloud environments.

Experience:

• 5-8 years experience as SQL Developer (TSQL, Stored Procedures, NoSQL)

Educational Qualification(s):

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
