We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
In this role, you will be:
Responsible for performing system development work on the Linux platform/GCP, which includes both the development of new functions and the on-going systems support of live systems.
There are a number of. job functions within the role and the job holder should specialize in a combination of functions. Work on the CICD, automation of code deployment. Investigate live systems faults, diagnose problems and propose and provide solutions.
Ability to understand the requirement and convert the requirement into desired solution. Ensuring Agile ways of working and delivery of work. Adhere to and strictly follow the HSBC processes and policies.
Provide support across the end-to-end delivery, utilising skills and expertise to carry out development, testing and support for solution implemented.
Write, analyse, review, and rewrite programs to departmental and Group standards, update the programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
Report progress as required and advise of problems in good time. Liaise with other stakeholders (like engineers, architects) to understand and drive the requirement into a solution.
Review code from team members Analyst/Developers as part of the quality assurance process. End to end accountability for implementing and converting requirement into a solution.
Produce unit test plans with detailed expected results to fully exercise the code. Troubleshoot defects and come up with working solutions.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Must have knowledge and experience on Python (Pandas, Numpy, Sci-kit Learn), Linux/Unix and Shell/Bash Scripting.
Strong knowledge of scheduling tools such as Control M. Knowledge around environment setup activities like Connect Direct, sFTP, Firewall concept.
Knowledge on GCP, Java, and IDEs like Eclipse/STS. Good to have knowledge on APIs & API testing tools like Postman.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Technology or Equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills preferred.
Sound understanding of processes and standards within HSBC (for ex: overall incident and change management process, Production Support etc).
Proactive approach in issue handling and resolution. Ability to manage, prioritize and work independently within a diverse team environment.
Strong prioritization and time management skills. Ability to work with a degree of autonomy while also being able to work in a collaborative team environment.
Good analytical, problem solving capabilities and provide good technical solution through best coding practices
