About the role

Location: Bangalore

Reporting to: RDA Director

Execute development and creation projects for external and internal customers and Create successful and winning flavors and flavour solutions for all Kerry portfolios to meet customer’s needs and win commercial opportunities.

Create new and novel flavors (Nature Identical and/or Natural) of high commercial potential according to customer needs and strategic goals

Prepare flavor samples as requested for customer briefs, applications needs, technology performance assessment, QC standards, physical testing, etc.

Evaluate and promote new raw materials and technologies.Interpret and use analytical results, including olfactory analysis, for the creation of flavors. Formulate new flavor creations or modify existing flavors to meet customer requirements, internal testing needs, or new technology development for selected flavor types

Participate in the evaluation of materials developed internally or from external sources and assess potential for flavour creation.Participate and learn about all areas of the company directly related to executing customer briefs (analytical chemistry, sensory, consumer understanding, regulatory, flavor delivery, manufacturing, etc.)

Execute daily brief related tasks and fully manage assigned projects and provide flavors which meet all defined customer needs and which meet good manufacturing practices, sample scale-up, production requirements, regulatory compliance, etc. as well as leading customer visits for flavor creation and product presentations at the customer when required

Serve as technical expert to resolve flavor production issues and customer complaints and complete ownership of created flavors

Serve as technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, and customers for ingredient and flavor performance for selected flavor types

Establish and maintain effective relationships with a limited number of customers; able to gain their trust and respect.Technical support of FC&A, Sales and Customers across India

Key responsibilities

Technical Competencies:
Medium level taste evaluation skills with an ability to understand how to adjust a flavor formulation in the direction needed for flavor modifications

Knowledge of raw materials and flavor ingredients with a basic ability to formulate & deliver flavor performance for customer briefs

Understanding of common flavor creation solvent and carrier systems.Ability to interface with customers and effectively discuss the flavor creation needs for selected flavor types

Basic knowledge of local and regional regulatory requirements for flavors.Ability to prepare and present flavor creation related technical presentations

Basic knowledge of application equipment, ingredients, and manufacturing procedures.Basic knowledge of formulating suitable delivery systems for various application bases

Basic knowledge of analytical methodologies (G.C. HPLC, Mass Spec.).Basic knowledge of flavor performance and ability to formulate using this data to improve flavor performance

Ability to work with support from senior flavorist, work with stakeholders and collaborate across boundaries

Qualifications and skills

Postgraduate in flavour technology from reputed institute like ICT

Minimum 5 years of experience with multiple wins will be an added advantage

Demonstrated capability in sweet flavour creation
