The Role:
Oxfam is looking for an Emergency Food Security & Vulnerable Livelihoods Advisor to drive high quality humanitarian response through Emergency Food Security and Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFSVL) work alongside other GHT advisors. He/she will contribute to research and development in EFSVL and proactively share learning and best practices internally and externally, facilitate a learning and strategic agenda on livelihoods in protracted crisis as part of the FES team. He/she will also, along with other advisors, leads and managers, promote safe programming in all humanitarian responses. Additionally, the job incumbent will be accountable for ensuring community participation shapes programme decisions, actively seek a partnership approach and work following feminist principles including strong awareness of power dynamics.

A post graduate qualification in a discipline related to EFSVL.
Good understanding and experience in food security analysis.
Significant practical experience in emergency food security and livelihoods programming in humanitarian responses, including considerable experience in large scale or complex emergency work.
Experience of remote support to programmes, including the ability to facilitate debate and influence people.
Experience of capacity building in different cultures and with people of varying educational background.
To demonstrate an understanding of different approaches used in livelihoods programmes e.g. market based approaches.
Experience of programme development and strategic planning in a variety of contexts.
Excellent conceptual and analytical skills.
Knowledge of the EFSVL sector and wider humanitarian sector.
