Roles & Responsibilities

The Network Administrator plays a vital role in designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure. They are responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the company’s computer networks.

Responsibilities:

Plan, design, and implement network architecture to meet the organization’s needs.

Deploy and configure network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Monitor network security to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and malware.

Implement and manage security protocols and firewall rules.

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Perform routine maintenance tasks, including network backups, software updates, and patch management.

Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Maintain documentation of network configurations and changes.

Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and traffic patterns.

Identify and resolve network bottlenecks and performance issues.

Optimize network infrastructure for maximum efficiency.

Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues.

Assist in setting up and configuring network-connected devices.

Educate staff on network best practices and security protocols.

Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the network.

Conduct regular backups and ensure data integrity.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.

Proven experience in network administration or a related role.

Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
